Pickhurst school win Bromley district kwik cricket finals 2009
Talented Bromley cricketers played in the District Kwik Cricket finals at Chislehurst & WK on Wednesday 1 July, organised by Bromley SSP and Bromley District Cricket Coaching (BDCC). Four teams qualified for the finals having won East and West heats at Orpington CC on 16 June – Hayes, Chislehurst St Nicholas CofE, Tubbenden and Pickhurst primaries.
Pickhurst had a shaky start but managed to pull through for the 2nd and 3rd games with an average score of 230/240. The final game was a very close match between Chislehurst St Nicholas CofE and Pickhurst, which could have gone either way – Pickhurst took 2 wickets on the opening over and from that moment St Nicholas were on the back foot. Bowling and fielding on the Pickhurst team kept on top of the Chislehurst batsmen, who managed a final total of 217. Pickhurst Juniors went forward to represent LB Bromley at the County Finals at the KCCC, St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury on Sunday 5 July. Please see KCB website for coverage of the finals at Canterbury.
