Derek Underwood next MCC President
Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has announced that former England, Kent, Beckenham CC and Beckenham Grammar School player, Derek Underwood, will be the MCC President from October 1 2008.
Underwood was the leading spinner for England, playing in 86 Test matches, taking 297wickets. He also played in 26 One Day Internationals. In his 24-year county career, he took 1,951 wickets and was also Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1969
Derek has worked in administration since his retirement and we are fortunate to have him as President of the Bromley District Development Group. We wish him every success in his term of office and congratulate him on this thoroughly deserved honour
