The league has been running since 1976 and has been won by Fledglings and Hayes amongst others. The league was held at a new venue - Bishops Justus C of E School which proved to be ideal for this competition. After losing in the semi finals of the cup, BOCA were determined to retain their indoor league crown. BOCA had a good wins against BWCOL, Bromley Town, Catford Cyphers and Wickham Park. The game against Blackheath was always likely to be the league decider. Blackheath, having won the toss, reached 30-0 after 2 overs. BOCA bowlers managed to restrict Blackheath to 95-5. BOCA seemed to be comfortable at 74-1 off 7 overs, but were reduced to 91-5 with 3 balls to spare. A 4 saw them home in a tense game. In the play-offs on the last weekend, BOCA batted 1st against Blackheath. Joe Jemmotte was run out by Chris Willetts off the first ball. BOCA were reduced to 25-5 off 5 overs. BOCAs captain Julian Massiah (39) was finally out caught off a leading edge with the score on 62. This was BOCAs lowest league score for 5 years. Blackheaths young batsmen cruised home in 10th over winning by 4 wickets. However, BOCA had done enough in the play-offs to retain the trophy.
Thanks are recorded especially to Peter Scorer for all his help in the league this year. pictures of the finalists here
